In-advance Therapeutic Use Exemption
Certain sports and athletes require an in-advance Therapeutic Use Exemption prior to taking medications containing substances or methods prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List.
2024 – In-Advance TUE Criteria

The following athletes for all sports are required to apply for an in-advance Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE):

Athletes in the Sport Integrity Australia Registered Testing Pool (RTP), National Testing Pool (NTP) and Domestic Testing Pool (DTP); (Athletes selected to be part of the RTP, NTP or the DTP will be officially notified by Sport Integrity Australia).

Athletes selected for Australian Olympic (Summer & Winter), Paralympic (Summer & Winter), or Commonwealth Games teams – not including Youth Competitions

If you are an athlete in a sport listed below and you meet one or more of the criteria for that sport you are required to apply for an in-advance TUE.
Athletes who are classified as an international level athlete by their International Federation and/or compete in international events either overseas or in Australia must check with the relevant International Federation or Event Organiser regarding their TUE requirements.
