Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) was pumped to be courtside at the University of Canberra Capitals vs Townsville Fire Indigenous Round for the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) last night.

The home game in Canberra saw SIA staff engaging with attendees as they arrived at the stadium to get them thinking about what they think a safe and fair sporting environment means for all.

Former Captain of the Capitals, WNBL veteran and current Director of Partnerships at SIA, Linda Muir, said embedding integrity in sport is key to success.

“I’ve seen women’s basketball come a long way over the years to ensure a fun and safe space for everyone involved,” Mrs Muir said.

“We all play a role in protecting sport together and we want all sporting participants feel they can speak up about behaviours that aren't in line with the safe and fair values.

“It was also fabulous to see the Indigenous Round played at home, with the Sport Integrity Australia basketballs flying high during the game’s timeouts.”
