Athlete Whereabouts update
In consultation with athletes and our own Athlete Advisory Group, we have changed the Whereabouts deadlines.
Sport Integrity Australia would like to advise that the new deadlines for each quarter will be 15 March, 15 June, 15 September and 15 December.
Australia was one of the few anti-doping organisations to still use the old “end of month” deadlines. This change now brings the deadline for Australian athletes in line with other international federations and anti-doping agencies around the world.
Sport Integrity Australia’s Head of Anti-Doping Chris Butler said the new deadlines will help to avoid confusion.
“It makes sense that all athletes have the same whereabouts deadline around the world,” Mr Butler said.
“While the process remains the same, this change will avoid confusion for athletes, particularly those who transition between testing pools with other anti-doping organisations.”
All Registered Testing Pool and National Testing Pool athletes have been advised of the change via email.
“Sport Integrity Australia will work with athletes and sports to ensure a smooth transition to the new deadline.”
Testing Pool Athletes
Testing Pool athletes are required to provide the following whereabouts information on a quarterly basis:
- Home address, email address and phone number
- An address for overnight accommodations
- Regular activities, such as training, work, and school, the locations and the times of these activities
- Competition schedules and locations
- A 60-minute time slot (RTP athletes only) for each day where they’ll be available and accessible for testing and liable for a potential ‘missed test’.
- Related travel (flight)
