And the platinum award goes to…
Sport Integrity Australia’s Cyber Safety and Security for Sports course has taken out the top gong at this year’s LearnX awards for the categories of Best eLearning Project and Best eLearning Design.
The LearnX awards recognise innovation and best practice in learning design around the world. Each entry is assessed by a panel of independent judges, with Platinum recognition the highest accolade possible.
The Cyber Safety and Security in Sport course was developed in partnership with the eSafety Commission and the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and launched in June 2023.
The course was designed to educate users on how to:
- Identify the cyber security risks facing their organisation, and the impact of getting it wrong.
- Identify what to do if they are hacked.
- Protect their accounts and devices.
- Understand what to do if someone in their sport experiences online abuse.
In addition to the LearnX recognition, the course has received glowing user feedback since the launch 5 months ago including that:
- 94% of users were satisfied with the course.
- 98% of users understood the options available if online abuse occurred in their sport.
- 90% of users learnt something new in the course.
Sport Integrity Australia’s Director of Education Alexis Cooper says this year’s wins demonstrate the agency’s ongoing commitment to innovation and cross-agency collaboration in preventing integrity threats.
“Receiving this recognition amongst such an impressive pool of candidates is a testament to the great collaboration across the three organisations,” Ms Cooper said.
“We’re hopeful that by putting preventative measures, like this course, in place we can reduce the cyber security threat facing sporting clubs across the country, and help sports understand their options if online abuse occurs.”
The Cyber Safety and Security in Sport eLearning course takes 45 minutes to complete and is available now on Sport Integrity Australia’s eLearning platform.
Award Winning Digital and Online Education
The Sport Integrity Australia Education team has produced a range of award winning digital and online resources. Previous recognition includes three Platinum LearnX awards for the Decision Making in Sport Virtual Reality Experience in 2021.
As well as further accolades for ‘Best Use of Technology in Learning’ and ‘Best Free eLearning Resource’ at the 2020 LearnX Summit and Awards, for the ‘Health Effects of Doping’ augmented reality app and the ‘Clean Sport 101’ online education course.
