  • Doping violation updates

Sport Integrity Australia today acknowledges the decision of Motorcycling Australia to impose a three-year ban on athlete Jesse Dobson for the presence and use of a prohibited substance.

Mr Dobson returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) from an In-Competition doping control test at the Pro MX Series in Maitland, NSW, on 7 May 2023, where the presence of GW1516 (GW501516) metabolite: GW1516-sulfoxide was detected.

It was determined that Mr Dobson used the prohibited substance GW1516 (GW501516) on and/or before 7 May 2023.

GW1516, a S4 class Hormone and Metabolic Modulator, is classified as a Non-Specified Substance and is prohibited at all times under the 2023 Prohibited List.

Motorcycling Australia has imposed a three-year ban on Mr Dobson. His ban was reduced by 12 months following a full admission of the alleged anti-doping rule violations.

Mr Dobson is ineligible to participate in any sports that have adopted a World Anti-Doping Code compliant anti-doping policy until 7 May 2026. He is also not permitted to compete in a non-Signatory professional league or Event organised by a non-Signatory International Event organisation or a non-Signatory national-level Event organisation.
