CEO acknowledges ADRVP contribution to integrity of sport

Sport Integrity Australia Chief Executive Officer David Sharpe has acknowledged the significant contribution made by the Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel (ADRVP) over the past 10 years.

The ADRVP, established on 1 January 2010, was set up to consider whether there had been possible anti-doping rule violations by a participant, and to make assertions in relation to those violations.

Following recommendations in the Wood Review, the Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel was officially wound up this week after over a decade of service with a new, more streamlined process commencing.

Mr Sharpe said the ADRVP’s contribution to the integrity of sport cannot be underestimated.

“The panel did an extraordinary job in dealing with, at times, complex issues under pressure,” Mr Sharpe said.

“The role they played upheld the integrity of the process. Australian sport is in their debt."

The new process commenced on 10 August 2020 following the passage of relevant legislation.
