Do you know what a substance of abuse is? Do you know what to do if someone offers you illicit drugs? Are you aware of the consequences for using illicit drugs In-Competition?

Sport Integrity Australia’s Illicit Drugs in Sport eLearning course answers these questions and more – it’s available on our eLearning website.

The Illicit Drugs in Sport course focuses on recreational illicit drug use and how it can affect an athlete’s health, sporting career and reputation. The course is designed for any person involved in sport and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

The course assists learners to:

  • Understand the effects of illicit drug use on health and sport performance.
  • Understand how illicit drug use can impact your sporting career.
  • Identify the anti-doping rules relating to illicit drug use in your sport and the consequences of breaking an anti-doping rule.
  • Define the In-Competition period in sport and explain why it is important to know this in relation to illicit drug use in sport.
  • Develop a plan to respond to offers of illicit drugs.
  • Access wellbeing and support services if you or someone you know is struggling with illicit drug use.
